Every year at camp, students participate in Tribe Games—a highlight of the weekend! Each Tribe is made up of male and female students from different campuses, ages, and grades. It’s a chance for them to connect, meet new friends, and enjoy some friendly competition.
We pick a fun theme each year and encourage both leaders and students to go “all out” with their team color or creative outfit ideas (themes for this year’s camp will be sent to all registered students on January 31). For Tribe Games on Saturday, we say: the crazier, the better! We’ve seen everything from tutus to face paint.
Your student will be contacted by their Tribe leaders the week prior to camp. Tribe assignments are final and cannot be changed. Don’t worry—students will still room with others from their campus and spend mealtimes, sessions, and other activities with their friends.
If you see the wrong campus listed by your student’s name, please email us right away at youthevents@gatewaypeople.com.
Help Your Student Prepare
Here are a few fun ways to help your student get ready for Tribe Games:
- Once they receive their Tribe assignment, brainstorm creative ways to show team spirit.
- Find clothing that fits their Tribe’s color or theme.
- Repurpose or purchase inexpensive shirts or bandanas to decorate (Walmart and Hobby Lobby have great options under $5).
- Use puff paint, fabric markers, or iron-on transfers for extra flair—be creative, the possibilities are endless!
